Well done to those children who were fortunate enough to take part in the Abberley Cross Country meet on Friday 12th.

The annual race was held on a very warm evening with children running from all local schools. The course as always was quite daunting with a few big up hill sections. Many of the parents who opted to walk the course with the children were certainly pleased to be there in a supporting role rather than a running one!

For the girls the three Year 5’s and one Year 6 (Izzy Y, Maddison L, Finn B and Tabitha H) had their first opportunity to run the course and did fantastically well, placing 16, 18, 22 and 26. All of them definitely looked like they had given everything as they crossed the line.

The eight boys also ran extremely well with Harvey S, Jimmy B, Oli S and James R finishing 1, 2, 10 and 12. This gave a total of 22 points. Despite being pushed hard by Hereford Cathedral school, they won by just over 10 points. A great first effort.

Oli H, Harry K, Will H and Jack S should also be very proud of their efforts on the course finishing not far behind the first four runners. A great effort all round and an exciting season ahead.
