Match Report
RGS The Grange Worcester Girls-U11C vs  RGS Springfield Worcester
On: Wednesday, 27 Jun 2018
Venue: Away

It was a glorious sunny afternoon for the girls' final fixture of the year against RGS Springfield. It was a friendly match and as a result, the Springfield staff requested that we do not play to the full rounders rules. Due to the fact that they had some rather inexperienced bowlers they requested we play 3 no ball to a half rounder.

Our girls won the toss and opted to field first. Izzy bowled beautifully, with very few no balls..and creating good batting chances for Springfield. Despite some good fielding, Springfield managed to finish their innings with 7 1/2 rounders.

It was then our turn to bat, and it became apparent that Springfield had some rather wild bowlers. There were several body balls, one of which actually struck Samar on the side of the head, which meant she had to sit out for the rest of the game. However, we made the best of our chances, and scoring 2 good rounders and several half rounders.

The second innings gave our girls a real chance to demonstrate some tight fielding, and with Lottie on second post and Sophie out deep, we prevented several half rounders being scored.

As we went into bat, we needed to score 10 rounders to make it even. The girls were determined, but the bowling was still quite inconsistent making it quite challenging. The final score was 13 1/2 to Springfield and 9 to The Grange. A super effort from our girls and a lovely friendly game against our sister school. Well done!
