Match Report
RGS The Grange Worcester Girls-U11A vs  IAPS Rounders First Round
On: Friday, 04 May 2018
Venue: Away

Unfortunately due to the traffic the girls only had a couple of minutes to warm up before we won the toss and (quite rightly!) chose to field first. Our lack of warm up showed in those first few minutes though, with some unusual decisions being made and poor fielding. However, after a couple of minutes the girls stepped up their accuracy and quick thinking to start fielding strongly and prevent Monmouth from scoring more than the odd half rounder here and there. Despite our batting being much stronger, those first few fielding mistakes meant we couldn't quite match Monmouth's score in the first innings.

The second innings, however, was in another league as the girls put huge pressure on the opposition's batting, only allowing their first two batters to score a few rounders before quickly getting five of their batters out. In the same breath our batting improved considerably in the second innings and the girls worked strategically and carefully in order to collect as many halves and whole rounders as possible.

We finished the game on 13 rounders to Monmouth's 11, allowing us to go through to the second round of the IAPS Rounders competition. Well Done, Girls. A huge thanks to Mrs Beardmore for accompanying us!
